Emily is a Cincinnati, Ohio based Attorney and Artist, who is passionate about breaking down barriers and making the system work for those furthering the progress of science and the arts.

Emily’s practice of law focuses on intellectual property portfolio management and strategic planning, in the United States and Internationally. Namely, Emily excels in trademark prosecution and maintenance, copyright clearance and registration, infringement investigations and enforcement, settlement negotiations and contract drafting, and beyond.

Emily is proud to have worked with clients ranging from individual creators, small business entrepreneurs to some of the most valuable Fortune 100 brands. Her experience spans a multitude of industries, including retail, fashion, software and hardware technology, gaming, entertainment, sports, food and beverages, visual arts, performing arts, automotives, non-profits, and healthcare. She has aided clients on every continent, save for Antarctica. With a wide breadth of experience, she is a learner at her core—always eager to explore new sectors and tackle new problems.

Emily received her J.D. from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, finding herself back in Ohio after a brief escape to Raleigh, North Carolina where she earned her B.A. in Design Studies from the North Carolina State University College of Design. As such, in addition to being a Buckeye, she is also a diehard Wolfpack Alumna. In Law School, Emily immersed herself in numerous leadership and practical skills experiences. A few stand-outs include serving as Editor in Chief of the Ohio State Technology Law Journal, Admissions Fellow for the Dean of Admissions, and SBA’s Barristers Ball Co-Chair (organizing one last party with my best friend before the world shut down); participating in the Mediation Clinic and the Entrepreneurial Business Law Clinic; working as a judicial extern for the Federal Circuit; and an internship with the Intellectual Property department at one of the most iconic American brands. All of which shaped her into a multi-faceted, solution-driven problem solver.

In pursuit of her own creative-endeavors, Emily prides herself as a member of the creative community that she aims to uplift. You can learn more about her art on her instagram, @eodcincy.
